Share Point backups with Asigra

Hi,

Is anyone using Asigra to backup Share Point? I'd be interested to know about peoples experiences with it.

Also, is anyone using it with Share Point Services rather than the full version. I've been told it not officially supported but it seems to work but for a few Exception errors, however I'm not sure if these are because it's SP Services....

I used to get the exception errors with Version 8.

Try Version 9; it works perfectly...so far :P

Yup, can confirm that V9 seems to work better with Sharepoint Services 3.0 (WSS3.0).

We used to get 64 exception errors thrown up during backup:

Exception occurred.
(Exception from HRESULT: 0x81070209) (sharepoint.company.com\TheBusiness\Finance\.)
Exception occurred.
(Exception from HRESULT: 0x81070209) (sharepoint.company.com\TheBusiness\Trading\.)
Exception occurred.
(Exception from HRESULT: 0x81070209) (sharepoint.company.com\Directory\Offices\TestOffi ce\.)
...

Pretty much one for every directory we had I think.

Doesn't do this in V9, so we now get a lovely 'Successful' status for this dataset on our logs. Woo!

I did have to manually upgrade the DS-Recovery Tools agent on our Sharepoint box though, it didn't auto-upgrade by itself. :lol:

Have yet to recover something using it though, will test that soon.

I'm pretty sure the release notes said that DS-Recovery Tools updates were supposed to happen automatically now. Hm.
